Introduce children to the joys of classic American popular music
with a concert by Jane Voss & Hoyle Osborne.  Drawing on their vast repertoire of ragtime, vaudeville songs, folk music, boogie-woogie, swing, blues, and country music, they sing, play, and teach great old-time (and a few newer) songs.  And they manage to sneak in some fascinating stories about the history behind the songs.

Programs are always specially tailored to the age and background of the audience.  Song sheets will be given to any musically-inclined teachers who would like to keep singing the songs with the children.

Voss & Osborne have performed these programs all across the
country.  Most especially, they have played in many schools and libraries in their home state of New Mexico, sponsored by the Artists-in-Residence Program of New Mexico Arts.  The
Philadelphia Folksong Society has brought them back many
times to perform in the Odyssey of Folk Music in the Schools.

A Century of Song

For ten years now, Jane & Hoyle have collaborated with 5th-grade teachers at Park Avenue Elementary School in their home town of Aztec, New Mexico, on a semester-long study of America in the 20th Century.  They have worked up a wonderful repertoire of historic American popular songs that enhance this history, in styles ranging from ragtime to rock.

Jane & Hoyle present A Century of Song either as a series of 4 to 8 chronological programs, or as a condensed single performance.  They can also help students and teachers develop their own performance based on this material.

Singing Green

Celebrate our natural world in song!  There are cowboy songs, folk songs, old-time popular songs, rock’n’ roll songs, and modern folk songs.  Sing about rivers and mountains, birds and mammals, rain, wind, and snow.  Program can be adapted for all ages.  Perfect for Earth Day celebrations.
